Manuscript Submission 

  • The JSE ScholarOne system enables the following actions: manuscript submission, review, status check, and decision.
  • To submit a manuscript, please access the following link and create a user account in ScholarOne. (http://mc04.manuscriptcentral.com/jsemicon).
  • The article should be original writing that enhances the existing body of knowledge in the given subject area. Original review articles are acceptable, even if new data/concepts are not presented.
  • Results reported in the article should not be submitted or published elsewhere (expanded versions of conference publications are eligible for submission).
  • All authors should be listed on both the manuscript PDF as well as on the author list within ScholarOne.
  • All research works should be carefully referenced.
  • The article should not be submitted elsewhere at the same time. More information about duplicate submission is listed below.
  • Briefs have a 3-page limit including references but without authors’ biographies. Regular papers do not have a page limit.
  • Supplemental material (if any)
  • Manuscript keywords (minimum of 3)
  • You will be required to select a manuscript type upon submission. A list and description of manuscript types are listed below. If you are unsure, please leave it as a “Regular” manuscript.
  • If the article was previously rejected after peer review with encouragement to update and resubmit, then a complete “list of updates” must be included in a separate document. The list of updates should have the following regarding each comment: 1) reviewers’ concerns, 2) authors’ response to the concerns, and 3) actual changes implemented.
  • JSE requires the use of article templates
  • JSE requires that all article submissions use the following template, submitted as a PDF:

Peer Review Policy

Journal of Semiconductor Engineering is a peer-reviewed open-access journal. We are committed to provide prompt and accurate evaluation of submitted articles. To maintain the high standard of the journal, each article should go through a rigorous review process to check if it benefits the research community. The originality and impact on the community will be the main consideration to determine the quality of the papers and the publication decisions.

  • All articles are reviewed by at least two experts in the area. If an article is an invited paper, the person who arranges the invitation can be a reviewer.
  • Board of editors (Editor-in-Chief and Associate Editors) will determine the publication decision based on the review results.

 

Ethical Statement

Journal of Semiconductor Engineering is committed to maintain a high ethical standard on both the publishing process and published articles. The ethical statement applies to all authors, reviewers, and editors of the Journal of Semiconductor Engineering.

 

Authors

All the authors of submitted papers are required to contribute to the article scientifically. Every author should be aware of the content of the article and of his/her being a co-author. Each author is responsible for the credits and claims of the article.

The published results should be the authors’ own work. Any fabrication, falsification, or intentional inclusion or exclusion of data is a serious infringement on research ethics and should be avoided. The source data of the published paper should be kept for a reasonable time period to back-up the result of the paper if demands of verification rise. In presenting and interpreting the results, authors should pay attention not to mislead the readers. The results submitted and published should be acquired complying with all the legal and moral requirements. Plagiarism is another serious violation of ethics. Explicit acknowledgments are required when presenting works of others or other articles. For any discovered mistakes and errors after the submission or publication, authors are required to make prompt corrections. Serious errors or mistakes threatening the conclusion of the article result in the retraction of the paper. Multiple submission of the same research result is unethical and unacceptable. The submitted article should contain its original scientific contribution.

 

Reviewers

Peer reviewers play an essential role in providing advice to the board of editors on publication decisions. The names of reviewers are confidential to authors. Reviewers are asked to provide an unbiased evaluation of the manuscript. Reviewers are also required to inform any conflicts of interest to the editorial office. The review comments will be offered to the authors. The information acquired during the review process cannot be used for reviewers’ purposes other than for the review.

 

Conflict of Interest

All authors, reviewers, and editors are asked to notify the editorial office of any potential conflicts of interest in advance. If objectivity and fairness cannot be guaranteed, the activity should be avoided or discontinued.
